This policy explains what information we collect through our website (the “Site”) and when you contact us, why we use it, and how we look after it. We are the controller of this personal data.

• Information you send us: your name, email address, phone number, company name, LINE or Telegram username, and the details of your enquiry when you contact us by email, LINE or Telegram.
• Information sent when you visit the Site: technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and time of visit, which is sent automatically when a web page is displayed. This is mainly processed by the service providers listed below.

3. How we use it and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss your needs (legitimate interests, or steps before entering into a contract)
• To provide the services you ask for, perform our contract and invoice you (contract)
• To meet our accounting, tax and other legal obligations (legal obligation)
• To keep the Site secure and prevent misuse (legitimate interests)

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send you marketing emails without your consent.

4. Service providers we use

We use the following third-party services to run the Site and handle enquiries. Each processes information under its own privacy policy.

• Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, delivery and security
• Google (Google Fonts) — delivery of the typefaces used on the Site
• Unsplash — delivery of photographs shown on the Site
• note Inc. (note.com) — delivery of our journal articles and images (full articles are on note)
• LINE (LY Corporation) / Telegram — messaging, if you contact us through these apps

5. International transfers

Because of the services above, your personal data may be processed outside the UK (for example in the EEA, the United States or Japan). Where this happens, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it — normally up to two years after our last contact — and then delete it. Records relating to contracts and accounts are kept for the period required by UK law (usually six years).
